Beginning in May, Girltrek Philadelphia is hosting monthly gardening education days with local community gardens and farms. Community members will learn the following from master gardeners:

• African American and BIPOC’s ancestral, spiritual and historical connection to stewardship and agriculture

• How to start a home garden–indoors and outside

• Container gardening

• How to plant and care for ornamental and fruit trees

• Growing plant medicine for a home apothecary

• Seed keeping

• How to reconnect with the land for total healing and improved sense of wellbeing
