Clebrate Trails Day
We’ll be #onthecircuit with outdoor friends for Celebrate Trails Day at Cobbs Creek Park. Click HERE for details and full schedule. In Color Birding Club and WeWalk PHL are hosting walks at 8 am and 9 am respectively. They’ll also be horseback riding, tree giveaways, health educational resources, community information, and water ice. Bring family, friends, and lunch.
Family Build-A-Drone Workshop
Parents and Guardians, bring your future aviators and join Friends of the Tanner House and Healing Through The Land on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 2-4 pm at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center (2101 Cecil B. Yes, we are going to walk, meet & greet to celebrate the movement, each other, our interests & initiatives, & dance, eat, share resources & inspiration! Each year on March 10th, Harriet Tubman Day, GirlTrek invites Black women around the world to gather in their homes, with friends and family, for a Harriet House Party.
More than a celebration, this gathering is for girls and women of all ages to reflect on health, set goals for the year, and make commitments to hold each other accountable.
We say, if Harriet could walk to freedom, we can walk to better health.
At the close of the party, you will set your walking goal in honor of Harriet, and commit to completing GirlTrek’s 21-day Jumpstart, a fun walking challenge that has inspired thousands of women to live healthier lives.

Winter Wellness Walk

Let's step up to build our endurance in various ways both mentally & physically. Appreciating the park landscapes in all seasons. #WinterWellness
Meeting at the Discovery Center parking lot we will check out parts of the Boxer’s Trail, the Historic Houses, and view the skyline on the Strawberry Mansion bridge then back.
This winter wellness walk will take us on some dirt trails and paved sidewalks and a few inclines/hills
After the walk folks are encouraged to walk up and explore the Discovery Center's Visitor Center and more. Discovery Center winter hours are Tue- Sun 10am - 5pm.
WeWalk PHL Town Watch Integrated Services Training

This is an open invitation for residents to come and join members of the We Walk PHL team for this event to connect with Town Watch Integrated Services Training. Town Watch Integrated Services (TWIS) trains, organizes and provides equipment to residents who want to be a part of Town Watch groups in their community.
In addition to helping communities organize to reduce crime and blight, TWIS also supports:
*Safe Corridors, a program that protects students traveling to and from school.
*Citizens Emergency Response Training (CERT), which teaches groups what to do in case of disaster.
*Drug prevention, leadership, and anti-bullying programs.
*Neighborhood cleanups.

We Walk We Ride East Fairmount Park
Enjoy a beautiful leisure bike ride through East Fairmount Park on Indego pedal assist E-Bikes.
E-bikes are wonderful as they take some of the effort allowing you to ride glide and pedal with ease for the duration of the event.
We will have a couple of stops to take in the scenery and some information and history about the area. Indego swag and helmets for all participants.
Meeting at the Indego bike station across the street from Mander Recreation Center.

We Walk We Ride With Indego
Register here. Meet at 33rd & Diamond Streets. Join us on a FREE two-hour group ride led by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia in partnership with Indego and the Better Bike Share Partnership (BBSP.) Ride leaders will go at a leisurely pace, accommodating cyclists of all levels.
Helmets will be provided, and participants can keep the helmets after the class (because safety is important for all bicyclists!) Only registered participants can join the ride (no walk-ups allowed.) The size of this event will be capped at 10-12 participants*
*Height Restrictions: Indego bikes are recommended for 5′ 2″ and up. If you’d like to come out with your own bike, please let us know.
Please be sure to arrive to this event hydrated, bring extra water, wear sunscreen, and wear comfortable clothing for riding a bike. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact lor.song@bicyclecoalition.org or 484-531-4737 to find out more.
Riders must be 16 years of age or older to participate in this group ride. All riders will be using Indego’s electric bike, and any minors MUST have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. Spots are limited, so sign up now!
