Join the Fairmount Park Conservancy for its annual walk to commemorate the birthday of William Grant Still, father of the Underground Railroad. Conductor Dee from UGR 3-Day will co-lead the group through Fairmount Park and steps freedom seekers took to get to Philadelphia where Still documented their stories to help with reunification. He, along with others, provided food, clothing, shelter, employment and emancipation papers. There will be lunch and a community conversation with historical re-enactors and authors. WeWalk PHL, GirlTrek, and Healing Through the Land members will be assisting as hike marshals.
